What is DPC?

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a healthcare model where patients pay a monthly or annual fee directly to their primary care physician or practice in exchange for a range of services. This fee covers unlimited office visits, preventive care, basic laboratory tests, and a variety of in office services. DPC aims to remove the involvement of insurance companies in the primary care relationship, allowing for more personalized and accessible healthcare. In a DPC, patients have more time with their physicians during appointments, as there’s typically less pressure to rush through visits to meet insurance-based reimbursement requirements. This model can lead to better doctor-patient relationships and more comprehensive care, as physicians can focus on preventive measures and patient education rather than solely on managing acute issues. DPC practices do not provide coverage for emergencies, hospitalizations, and specialist care, but, but covers all our day-to-day healthcare needs. This model is gaining popularity to do the ability to provide high-quality, affordable primary care services while reducing administrative burdens and overhead costs associated with traditional insurance-based practices.

How are labs and imaging covered?

At MODE primary care we are able to offer heavily discounted cash pricing for labs and imaging available at standard laboratory and imaging centers. There is also the option to have these services covered through your insurance if you hold a traditional insurance as well.

What is FSM?

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) therapy is a form of electrical therapy that uses body level electrical currents (microcurrents) to treat pain and various medical conditions. FSM involves applying specific frequencies of electrical stimulation to targeted areas of the body to address pain, inflammation, and a wide variety of other symptoms. The theory behind FSM is that different frequencies of electrical currents can have specific effects on tissues and cells within the body. Using  precise frequencies, you can decrease inflammation and promote tissue repair, and even reach tissues difficult to reach with medications or supplements. FSM is used by a wide variety of healthcare practitioners to treat a range of conditions. It is considered a non-invasive and drug-free treatment option that can be used alone or in conjunction with other therapies.

What is constitutional hydrotherapy?

Constitutional hydrotherapy is a naturopathic treatment that involves the therapeutic use of hot and cold water along with electrical stimulation to promote the body’s natural healing processes. The treatment involves alternating applications of hot and cold water to the chest and back. This alternating temperature therapy is believed to help improve circulation, stimulate the immune system, and promote detoxification.

Dr. Kieran Gesko

Hello! I’m Dr. Kieran Gesko, a naturopathic primary care physician who is passionate about family health and total wellness. I grew up in the greater Seattle area as the eldest in a big Catholic family (11 children), during undergrad studied biology and conducted research at Benedictine College in Kansas, and received my medical training at Bastyr University in Seattle. I also completed a year of Master’s in Psychology studies with Divine Mercy University to better understand my patients and how to support them from a whole person perspective. I am trained as an FSM practitioner (Frequency Specific Microcurrent Therapy), a non-invasive targeted therapy approach for a variety of conditions as well as pain management.

As a family medicine practitioner I support my patients in all aspects of their health from pediatrics to geriatrics. My special clinical interests include cardiometabolic health, diabetes, women’s health, behavioral health, and nervous system function. I am passionate about patients taking charge of their health and focusing on preventative wellness.

Outside of the clinic I love to work on growing my herbal medicine garden, cooking big dinners with family and friends, and adventuring with my husband and growing family. I pray daily for my patients and their continued health and wellbeing, and I look forward to getting to know YOU and supporting you in your health.
